Theme – Japanese Mythology

There will be 3 deadlines this year:

• 1st deadline is September 16th, 2011 by 11:59pm MDT and is for artwork that will be used in the 2011 program book to announce the 2012 theme.
  
• 2nd deadline is September 30th, 2011 by 11:59pm MDT and is for artwork that will be used for the 2012 bookmarks.
  
• 3rd deadline is March 31st, 2012 by 11:59pm MDT and is the Final deadline for the mascot contest.
  

All entries regardless of the first two deadlines will still be entered in the main contest. Announcements for the final contest will be made after the contest ends, exact dates are TBA.

Contest Rules & Information

• To submit you must send your artwork, along with your contact information (Full name, Phone # and Email address) to artshow@animebanzai.org
  
• Entries should be at least 300 dpi for best print quality. Larger is fine, but please keep in mind email limits. You do not want to send a broken image.
  
• Photoshop ready files (psd, tiff, etc.) with transparent backgrounds are a plus and may be requested if your art is chosen.
  
• Line entries will be accepted, but should be either inked or cleaned up before submission and we may request a color version later.
  
• Color entries should also have a line version included with the submission.
  
• Mascots can be full body or partial.
  
• Bon is the blonde boy and Sai is the brunette girl.
  
• The mascots may be submitted singly or together.
• If you submit the mascots separately we request that you still submit both.
• You may enter more than one set of mascots, but you may only receive one prize.
  
• You are not required to use the Banzai color scheme of green and purple
  
• We have uses for both Realistic and Chibi, so you may submit either or both.
  
• Multiple entries will be chosen.
  
• The earlier you submit the more chances you have that your art may be selected as there are several items that we need before the end of the year.
  
• If your artwork is chosen you will receive 2 free admissions into Anime Banzai 2012.

If you have preregistered before you were notified that your art was chosen there are several options that will be offered on a case by case basis.

Anime Banzai reserves the right to use the winning entries for any and all promotional purposes for the Anime Banzai convention and Utah Anime Promotions in perpetuity.

Please remember: Submitting your art to the DA group is not counted as submitting it to the contest. You must send the email to have your work considered for the contest.
